Postpone of the May FFO philanthropy event in Tokyo

FFO would like to express our deepest condolences and sympathy to the people especially to those who lost loved ones and are suffering from the earthquakes of the 11th March 2011, devastating tsunami and troubles at the nuclear power stations, in the wake of the sudden tragedy caused by the Great Tohoku Kanto Earthquake.

FFO was planning to hold the philanthropy event in Tokyo in May for fund rising to support two organizations (Child Doctor in Nairobi, Kenya and Magic Bus in Mumbai, India) which FFO is in alliance with. However, we have decided to postpone the event due to the catastrophe cased recently in Tohoku Kanto area. We also decided to postpone FFO tour which "Japanese family with their children" will visit slum in Mumbai, which was planned in summer 2011.

FFO was further considering what we can do for Japanese children because they make the future of Japan. We all want a better future for our country. Core members of FFO Philanthropy are discussing about the next and near future activities. Especially, with the mission of "Children are our future!", in addition to Magic Bus and Child Doctor, we could do something for the middle term of the support to the children of this suffered area. We are very happy for receiving your suggestions and advise.

We have to start to think and make actions for our future. We want the happy world for our children in future. Children are our future. And we should pour our love to our children from ourselves that creates our future. It is important that we have to give them opportunities to grow and make them independent.

FFO's social contribution activity

A beautiful poem was found which shows how Katsura, CEO of FFO feels for philanthropy.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

(by Emily Dickinson (1830-1886))

FFO will start two projects in the table below, which were selected for FFO's social contribution activity.

FFO will support 'Child Doctor program in Kenya' and 'Magic Bus program in Mumbai' as the FFO Japan Chapter.

Volunteer staff wanted! If you are interested, please kindly contact Ms. Katsura Suzuki (info@ffoglobal.com) directly.

These programs were selected carefully based on these 9 conditions that we have set for FFO' social contribution activity.

1. A program has to be along with FFO's project philosophy, "Children are our future"
2. It should be a program, which already has activity results
3. It should be a program that can be begun small and expanded big.
4. It must be a program where we can clearly see faces of people in the other side or end-results.
5. It should be a program that seems to realize even at an individual level, then to be developed at larger scale, such as a company, organization and country)
6. It must be a comprehensible project.
7. Choose one in Asia, one in Africa and one in Japan (in near future).
8. Try to cover several fields by category of activities such as Education, Medical care and so on.
9. Most importantly, we would want to avoid just to contribute monetary form from rich people to a poor country, but we would want to act to aim at win-win-win situation that enriches our mind and to have a chance to think about our world with it.
